AdSage Awarded USD $20 Million Financing by SIG and MERIDIAN CAPITAL

(September 19 Beijing Time)ChinaVenture News: Domestic digital marketing enterprise adSage yesterday announced to have acquired USD $20 million financing, the investors this time is SIG Asia Investment and Singapore MERIDIAN CAPITAL.
 
According to Tang Zhaohui, CEO of adSage, after financing, adSage will continue to intensify investment in product and technology R&D, and focus on developing emerging digital marketing business, such as social networking marketing platform, and mobile internet advertising market.
 
Meanwhile, adSage announced Microsoft Senior Vice President Harry Shum formally became a member of its Advisory Committee, marking another major step taken by adSage following the joining of Wei Hongrui, former General Manager of Baidu Games Business Division.
 
According to published info, AdSage, a company founded in 2005, is dedicated to providing highly efficient technologies and services in search engine marketing, for which it is acclaimed China’s AdMob by the industry. Previously, AdMob attracted widespread public attention after acquisition by Google, which prompted the industry to develop interest in mobile internet advertising. AdSage initially operated in overseas markets, Facebook, Google, Microsoft are all its advertising customers; however, with the development of domestic market and fast growth of mobile internet sector, adSage shifted its attention to Chinese market, and extended its business from PC online advertising to mobile online platform.
 
The mobiSage platform of adSage at present covers 30 million mobile terminals in China, which include 90% ipad terminals. Its operation partners include Baidu, Samsung, App Factory etc; it supports iOS, Android, Symbian, BB smart mobile phone systems. E-commerce enterprises including Vancl and Letao have invested huge amount in advertising on mobile internet via adSage.

According to data from iResearch, the size of China’s online advertising market in the second quarter of 2011 reached 11.02 billion, up by 28.38% from that in the previous quarter, and up by 39.4% from that in the same period in previous year; the mobile phone advertising market size is expected to reach 5.52 billion yuan in 2012. This time’s financing awarded to adSage also reflects the optimistic outlook toward this market by the industry.
